Overview

AthleteMonitoring.com uses statistical algorithms commonly used in sports science research to automatically analyze training, well-being and recovery risk factors in real-time. Athletes response is compared to their own data, and evidence-based thresholds when they exists.

The table below presents the variables that AthleteMonitoring monitors and how risk and alerts are calculated in real time.

Questionnaire alerts

Each answer is graded 0-6pts

The questionnaire score is calculated by adding and converting in percentage the points associated with each answer selected by the athlete for category of questions. A total percentage score is given for each  category of questions, and the average percentage score of all categories is used to calculate the questionnaire's overall score.

Interpretation of scores

>60% = yellow alert

>80% = red alert

Alerts from custom fields / daily measurements

You can automatically generate alerts and flag abnormal response from any custom field.

Activation

To activate this alert system, go to Team settings->Questionnaire->Daily measurements and select (button should be grey) the bell button located next to the unit dropdown lists, for the measure / variable you wish to generate alert from.

Calculation

The type of alert is determined by calculating daily z-score for each measurement and comparing it to the athlete's 4-weeks daily average.

Low score alerts
Z-score < -0.99= Normal range - No alert
Z-score ≥ -1= Low - Yellow alert
Z-score ≥-2= Very low - Red alert

High score alerts
Z-score < 0.99= Normal range - No alert
Z-score ≥ 1= High - Yellow alert
Z-score ≥2= Very High - Red alert

Interpretation

In the team alert dashboard, next to the name of the custom field, you'll see arrows pointing up or down to indicate when daily data is lower or higher than the athlete's normal range.

Training alerts

The system compares daily z-score to the 4-weeks rolling average, for each variable and athlete. The type of alert is assigned based on daily z-score level.

Z-score< +-1= normal range- no alert

Z-score >0.99 <2= yellow alert

Z-score >1.99= red alert
