To ensure the best possible accuracy, the assessment system of AthleteMonitoring interprets changes in results using a statistical approach that takes into account the average, standard-deviation, and typical error of the athlete's historical data.

In practice, each result is compared to the previous one and, depending on the type of test (Higher raw score = better result option in test settings) and the range of typical error (provides upper and lower limits of the normal range), the color is automatically assigned.

Examples:

Sprint 40m (Higher raw score = better result => No), a significant decrease in sprint time will be represented by a green color

Bench-press  (Higher raw score = better result => Yes), a significant decrease in weight lifted will be represented by a red color
